Johor is experiencing rapid development across various sectors, including technology, infrastructure, economy, and investment, leading to positive impacts on the progress and well-being of its residents.
In a significant move, real estate companies UEM Sunrise and Logos have joined forces to establish a cutting-edge data center campus in Johor, Malaysia.
UEM Sunrise recently formalized a Memorandum of Understanding with Logos Infrastructure Holdco Pte Ltd to explore the creation of an innovative data center campus in Gerbang Nusajaya, Johor.
The proposed campus, spanning a 30-hectare site in Gerbang Nusajaya, is set to offer a capacity of up to 360 MW, although specific development timelines have not yet been disclosed.
UEM Sunrise emphasizes that they are utilizing their land bank in Iskandar Malaysia to collaborate with Logos in developing the data center campus, with a firm belief that it will significantly contribute to Johor’s economic advancement.
As a logistics property developer, Logos recognizes Johor Bahru’s strategic location near Singapore and Malaysia’s digital infrastructure initiatives, positioning it as an ideal hub for the data center sector in Southeast Asia. The company is eager to play a pivotal role in this growing market.
This collaboration receives backing from the Malaysian Investment and Development Authority and the Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry, indicating strong governmental support for the project.
Collectively, these developments in Johor are anticipated to bring substantial value to the state, paving the way for a competitive and prosperous future.
