MALAYSIAN INVESTMENT DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (MIDA)
The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) is a government agency that helps
promote and support investment in Malaysia, especially in the manufacturing and services
sectors. It works to attract both local and foreign investors by promoting Malaysia as a good
place to invest through events and investment missions.
MIDA acts as a one-stop centre for investors by helping with tax incentives, licenses, permits,
and approvals from other government agencies. It also gives advice on business rules,
locations, and partners.
MIDA offers various investment incentives such as Pioneer Status and Investment Tax
Allowance, especially for key sectors like high technology, automation, and green industries.
Besides that, MIDA helps develop industries by supporting innovation, research, and skilled
workforce training. It also gives advice and suggestions to the government based on current
investment trends and feedback from businesses.

Most investments focused on high-impact service sectors like logistics, data centres, and
modern business facilities, supporting Johor’s goal to become a digital and high-value industry
hub.
The growth of the Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) and strong infrastructure
like roads, ports, and energy systems also played a key role.
To support this, the state introduced investor-friendly programs like the “Johor Fast Lane” and
developed skilled talent through the Johor Talent Development Council, helping to build a
stronger investment environment.
